Judgement Day: The Results

JT Judgement Day

Judgement Day has passed, and Captain Superinjunction has been stripped of his armband. The meeting between Fabio Capello and John Terry apparently lasted all of 12 minutes. By our workings, at least 11 and a half of those minutes must have been needed just to run through the list of Terry’s misdemeanours. That left half a minute for the England manager to think it over, tell the disgraced Chelsea defender that his captaincy was being passed on to the next in line, Rio Ferdinand, then say goodbye.

So the most controversial footballer in England is replaced by the former most controversial player in England. Some may have been shocked at the decision to give it to Rio, but realistically, it was always going to be him, not Gerrard or Rooney. That’s what the vice-captain is for.

So then, how long till Rio gets himself in a bit of off-field bother and the media try to get him replaced by the new vice-captain, Steven Gerrard?

I’m thinking two weeks, tops.
