News from an event at games show GDC 2010 is that EA Mobile has announced that 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will be released for iPhone and iPod touch next month alongside the console versions.

Producer Simon Humber has updated the 2010 FIFA World Cup blog, again talking about the new penalty kick system, which definitely sounds 'different', and the improved Captain Your Country mode.

Ubisoft have officially revealed Pure Football, their long rumoured foray into football games, is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this May. It's developed by Ubisoft Vancouver, and from the sounds of it they’ll be going for a different take on the sport rather than taking on FIFA and PES directly.

EA’s revolutionary free to play online version of FIFA is now in its second closed beta, bringing in host of new players and adding a bunch of new features. The big additions include the League Mode, Co-op Mode and Versus Mode and improved mouse controls.

EA Sports' Simon Humber, producer of the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup, has been talking to IGN about some of the new features the game will bring to the series, specifically the new penalty system and the re-designed Captain Your Country mode.

Talking to investors at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, EA Sports big cheese Peter Moore has hinted that this year will see the company’s big franchises like FIFA and Madden move toward digital distribution and subscription plans.

Extraordinarily, going into administration didn’t stop Portsmouth from thinking that offering financial advice to their fans on their website was a good idea. Pompey’s “PFC Financial Services” division was apparently set up to give “everyday financial products and solutions that our supporters and families have need for.” Like Portsmouth branded credit cards. For reals.

Sports Interactive and SEGA have released the free data update for FM 2010 on PC and Mac that includes all the transfers and managerial changes up to the end of the January transfer window.
