Sky Sports News Actually Changed Their Music

No doubt I'm slow on the uptake on this one. Amongst all the craziness of the new season kicking off, there's already been so much going on, so many games already, the Champions League is even on the tele, that there's barely been a moment to sit down and take stock. It's glorious and we wouldn't want it any other way. But anyways, my brain finally stopped spinning long enough to pick up on something I thought I would have noticed instantly. Sky Sports News has actually, for reals, dropped Moloko's 'The Time Is Now' as their go to musical flourish. I honestly never thought it would happen...

ESPN recently made their first major signing of the transfer window, bringing in BBC veteran Ray Stubbs. It’s a ‘solid’ signing more than anything, not really a ‘coup’. Like Phil Neville to Everton, he'll do a good job and be respected for it, but if he's ever better than just 'alright' you'll be surprised and think it's just an off day for him. We’ve never really been the biggest fans of Stubbsy, always a little disappointed when the famous theme tune ends and we see him sat on the ‘Match of the Day’ sofa, but maybe a fresh start with a new station will give him the chance to really step up his game and win us over. But seriously, ESPN may be the new boys in town Premiership wise, but as Ray himself puts it, they are “one of the world's top broadcasters”. We’re excited to see an established and successful broadcaster bringing something fresh to football coverage. We just hope they’re not setting out their stall with the Stubbs signing, and that they bring on board some more exciting talent this summer. We’ve put together a list of presenters, pundits, and commentators that could be potential transfer targets for ESPN.
